Explore the remarkable human capacity for post-traumatic growth, and meaningful connection-making through strengths-based practice. (In Person, Perth WA)
Ros Fairless distils recent research into an accessible overview of the impact of trauma upon behaviour, personality and the workplace. Using imagination and movement, discover how bodies both ‘keep the score’ of traumatic events and hold the key to healing old wounds.
Ron Speed will take you on an exploratory journey in making meaningful connections using a strength-based approach. The experiential exercises offer an introduction to foundational skills to help participants learn to build meaningful connections and explore the spirituality and strengths of those with whom you work.
This is a collaborative two-part workshop, designed to provide information and tools to benefit both participants and their clients.
In the first session, participants will gain an overview of contemporary thought about trauma and gain understanding and experience of the role of creative expression and imagination in accessing and promoting healing of emotional and psychological wounds.
In the second session, participants will receive an introduction to strength-based practice and ways to use this to empower and motivate those with whom they work in a creative way.
Due to the interactive nature of these sessions, the event will only be accessible to participants who are able to attend in-person. We regret that on this occasion, recordings will not be available.
